Thank God for LOVEFiLM

I have to watch a lot of films for my PGCE as I'm teaching three different media subjects. In the last fortnight I've had to watch
Shifty, The Queen and the entire Scream series - and there's gonna be plenty more where that came from. Luckily for me, I can watch a lot online with LOVEFiLM. I've had a subscription for a couple of years now but rather than wait for films to be sent out, it's quicker and easier to
watch films online - instant access! What could be better than that? There are thousands of titles and they vary from being able to watch for free, as part of your package or pay for view. It only cost me a couple of quid to 'rent' Shifty for 48 hours the other day. Sorted, especially when I'm working on a tight budget until my loan is finalised.

Media Mayhem: New Blog

If anyone is that way inclined, I have decided to create a separate blog for my PGCE course. Just as a reference point for myself and other students. Take a look if you fancy and pass it on:

Final Cut will continue to exist - promise! Once I've learned to better organise myself, I'll publish film posts more regularly...

Most Anticipated Film: The Swell Season

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you'll know how much I love the film Once. Now there is a documentary charting the film and the band's success, as well as exploring the relationship between the two leads. I for one can't wait. It's released in cinemas in October but doesn't stand a chance of getting a screening in Cornwall. So, yet again, I've got to wait for the DVD release. In the meantime, I'm going to campaign to get it in the next season of the Penwith Film Society, which won't start until the new year but should at least beat the DVD release. Fingers crossed...
